Saunas: Space to relax and unwind

We not only enjoy building saunas but also using them. The woody scents, the tactile nature of the smooth alder and aspen, and the cosy, warm slowness of it all.

The Nordic countries have it figured out. There’s nothing quite like the calm and comfort of a sauna. Studies show that the combination of heat, quiet, and ritual increases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and enhances mental well‑being.1

We love the mobile aspect of our Jamesway sauna. Take it to the beach and hop in after a day of surfing – or move it with you to a new home.

The fact that it fits on a 6x8ft trailer and can be pulled by a large family car or 4x4 means you won’t need to leave it behind. Because once you build the ritual of a sauna into your life, you won’t want to be without it.

While the Jamesway is flexible because it’s moveable, permanent builds offer a more expansive bespoke solution.

In this example, we had the pleasure of combining aspects of traditional timber framing with a two-person sauna. The brief was to create a modern building that incorporates a sauna, shed, storage bench, and modesty screen. This build allows the clients to sit in their sauna and look out the window at a clutter-free garden, thanks to oodles of built-in storage.

We enjoy providing clients with solutions tailored to their specific space and use requirements.
