Traditional Timber Framing course in Brecon: Our Experience at Hewnwood
Woodcock Cabins is made up of three brothers - Henry, Alfie and Tom. Both Alf and Hen went on the Hewnwood Traditional timber framing course in 2020 and since then we’ve had a number of exciting jobs that have allowed us to showcase these skills, notably the yoga studio we built for Tim in Tracebridge, Somerset. Book a consultation with us if you have a project you want us to help you with!
Saunas: Bespoke builds in Bristol and North Somerset
We not only enjoy building saunas but also using them. The woody scents, the tactile nature of the smooth alder and aspen and the cosy, warm slowness of the whole experience.
We can make saunas in all shapes and sizes and will deliver to your door/garden.
The ancient art of traditional timber framing
Traditional timber framing is a construction technique that uses joinery and wooden pegs instead of metal fixings and fasteners.
Building offices in back gardens
Over the past year and a half, the focus of many of our builds has been to create warm and stylish workspaces to suit the needs of those working from home.
Locally grown timbers
A constant feature of all our builds is the use of durable, locally grown timbers such as European Larch and Western Red Cedar.
Building for refugees
In August 2015 I joined some friends taking a trailer full of tinned and dried food, building materials and clothing donations to a warehouse on an industrial estate in Calais.
